Position Summary:

The VP, People & Culture will play a pivotal role in shaping and leading the people strategy. As a key member of the Leadership Team, you’ll partner closely with business leaders to drive a high-performance, inclusive, and values-aligned culture. You’ll be responsible for designing and delivering people programs that support business growth, talent development, and employee engagement across a dynamic, mission-driven organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as a trusted advisor to the CEO and leadership team on all matters related to people, culture, and organizational performance.
  • Work closely with the CEO and leadership team to drive a disciplined, forward-looking talent agenda—ensuring the organization has the right people in the right roles and a strong leadership bench to enable sustained growth and performance.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing People & Culture team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Partner with leaders across the business to align people strategy with organizational goals and growth priorities.
  • Build a strong employer brand and clearly define employer value proposition to attract and retain top talent.
  • Design and implement talent acquisition, onboarding, and retention strategies with a focus on DEI, candidate experience, and long-term potential.
  • Embed performance management systems that drive clarity, alignment, and continuous feedback.
  • Define and execute an equitable total rewards strategy, including compensation, equity, and benefits—leveraging external expertise as needed.
  • Implement and track people metrics to drive data-informed decision-making and measure the effectiveness of people programs.
  • Champion learning, development, and leadership growth opportunities at all levels.
  • Lead talent assessments to evaluate performance, identify high-potential talent, support growth and development planning, and inform succession decisions aligned with business needs.
  • Oversee the creation and evolution of policies and people practices that reflect a modern, remote/hybrid workforce.
  • Support cultural integration, talent alignment, and change management during business transformations such as acquisitions, restructurings, or strategic pivots.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant employment legislation across jurisdictions.
  • Collaborate with Finance and Operations on budgeting, workforce planning, and process optimization.


Qualifications & Experience:

  • 7–10+ years of progressive leadership experience in People & Culture, preferably within high-growth, mission-driven environments.
  • Proven success in building and scaling people teams, systems, and practices.
  • Deep expertise in talent strategy, organizational development, employee engagement, and leadership development.
  • Strong understanding of compensation philosophy and equity design.
  • Demonstrated experience in navigating change, supporting transformation, and fostering inclusive cultures.
  • Effective communicator with a collaborative, solution-oriented mindset.
  • CPHR designation or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Experience building remote-first or hybrid culture environments is an asset.
  • Comfortable working with technical teams and translating business needs into people strategies.
